When the outbreak first occurred, the focus was completely on protective gear (masks and gowns) for care givers. No thought was given on to how doctors might treat patients with Covid to prevent their hospitalization and death. If you tested positive for Covid, you were told told to go home and quarantine for two weeks; come back to the hospital if you got really sick. There still is no recommended treatment if you test positive and are not hospitalized.
